Saxon Schützen 108th Regiment Enlisted Shako
Extremely rare helmet to find in today’s marketplace
Saxon Schutzen Regiment -Prince George - Nr.108, Enlisted Man circa 1910. From the old New England collection. Unique Austrian style Shako with Black horsehair bush pulled over to the left side of the helmet. Leather body that is covered in black cloth. The helmet is shaped like a hat and has a bill. All metal parts are brass.
The helmet is in excellent shape with no damage to the helmet structure. Unique sweat leather lining. The helmet is stamp marked inside the bill “108R”. The frontplate is the small brass Saxon star with the Arms of Saxony with a horn underneath in silver. No extra holes in the helmet body. Leather chinstrap on M91 side lugs. Missing the small Reichs and Saxon cockades. Extremely rare helmet to find in today’s marketplace.
