French Dragoon or Cuirassier Officers Helmet

Nickeled helmet body for a French 1874 Cuirassier or Dragoon. Missing the cimier that was possibly removed to accomodate a field cover during the WW1 trench war. In that event the top cimier was usually replaced with a leather strip or metal plate (missing here).

Body is in Mint condition with no dings or nickel loss. makers marked in the back by "G. Broit Paris".All fire gilt trim with the Bandeau and grenade as well the beautiful Officers chinscales with the "marguerite" rosettes and laurel leave scales. Mint lining inside with green basane to the front and brown/red leather to the back.
