Prussian Garde Infantry NCO - Private Purchase Pickelhaube

Prussian Guard Infantry Regiments private purchase NCO Model 1897. Officer quality construction. Recently found in Europe. Black lacquered leather helmet body with brass trim. The helmet body has excellent form and firm stitching. Exterior lacquer is dulled with age but is complete with no damage or lacquer loss. No extra holes in the helmet body. The interior has officer quality leather sweat leather and tan silk headliner. Interior liner and silk show age and use. Interior visors are colored red and green as is normally seen in officer helmets. No markings in helmets.

Fine brass metal trim is also officer quality. The spike base has NCO pearl ring and removable spike. The base is held to helmet body with brass domed retainers. The frontplate is the Prussian Guard Regiments wide winged eagle with a silver star of the Red Eagle Order in the center. The frontplate is held to helmet with loops and leather wedges over grommeted holes. Original leather chinstrap on M91 side lugs NCO style 2 piece Reichs cockade and Prussian cockades. The helmet is uncleaned and never polished it retains 100% of its original finish. Outstanding representative of a Prussian Guard infantry NCO.
