Baden Field Artillery Enlisted Pickelhaube
All original helmet with nice markings
Baden Field Artillery Enlisted Man Model 1891. Recently found at an antique show. Black lacquered leather helmet body with brass trim. Helmet body has fine form. Exterior lacquer has matte finish and is in very good condition. No extra holes in the helmet body. The frontplate is the Baden Griffen that is held to the helmet body with screw attachments. This is proper for pre-M1895 helmets. The Griffen fits the helmet shell like a glove. Enlisted style artillery ball top. Round base with split brad retainers.
Balltop does not unscrew. Both visor with good stitching, however the back visor shows a repair to the stitching (see photos). Field Artillery type back spine with no ventilation slide/hole, end nut missing. The helmet interior has black leather lining with 9 flaps in excellent condition. Markings on back visor (see photo). Rounded M1891 style chinscales on posts over a single of enlisted Baden cockade. The Reichs cockade came after 1897. This is an all original helmet.
