Single Regiment Helmet. Rare

Saxe-Weimar 94th Infantry Regiment - Officer Model 1897. Black lacquered leather helmet body with gilded brass trim. The helmet body in good condition with firm stitching. Exterior lacquer in excellent condition with even aged finish and has not lost any lacquer. No extra holes in helmet body. Interior has sweat leather and silk headliner. The headliner shows age but is in excellent condition. Inner visors red and green as is normal for officer helmets. All metal trim is gilded brass.

The frontplate for the helmet Prussian style line eagle with the banner “Mit Gott fur Furst und Vaterland”. On the eagle’s breast is a silver star with the Coat of Arms of Saxe-Weimar in the center. Officer style round spike and base. The silver crown on top of the Coat of Arms has been replaced (see photos). Gold stars secure the spike base to helmet body. Flat style chinscales on gold rosettes. Standard Reichs and Weimar cockades. All original and very rare regimental helmet from a single regiment. The helmet is all original and uncleaned.
