Bavarian Silver Enlisted Jäger Shako
This is a nice helmet for restoration
Bavarian Silver Jaeger Shako EM Model, most likely used in WW1 as it seems to have grey posts. Another "Barn Find" from the Parker Collection. Rod Parker was an advanced Imperial WWI era Collector from the 1960's through 2000. He lived on the family ranch in rural Texas. Rod died suddenly in 2000. Sadly, his family put much of his collection in the barn outside the family home for over 20 years. We have a lot of stories. Ask us sometime when we meet up at a show.
This helmet is a leather shako of the pre-war type. Leather body has excellent shape and firm stitching. The black lacquer is in good condition with only age related spidering. No extra holes in the helmet body. The helmet interior has full non-dyed leather liner. The frontplate is the Bavarian coat of arms in silver metal. Missing field badge and chinstrap. This is a nice helmet for restoration. Bargain priced
