Mecklenburg 14th Jäger Batallion "private purchase" Shako.

Stationned in Colmar (Alsace). Lacquered black leather shako in near mint condition with gold trim. Shako has perfect form with firm stitching. The frontpalte is the gilt Mecklenburg sunburst with the frosted silver wappen of Mecklenburg Schwerin in its center. The plate fits the shako perfectly has testified by the marks along the edges. It is held to the body with both original leather wedges through grometed holes.

Inside has the 18 tabs fancy "NCO" style thin "basane" black leather lining in near mint condition, sized "56". Shako has the original leather strap mounted on M1891 posts with the Reichs Cockade. The Mecklenburg Schwerin Fancy "NCO" type Fedzeichen (very Rare to find) completes thsi beautiful shako. Extremely rare "woodwork" find.
